Now the LongHaul is going to be a motor home-approved bike rack and that's important to know because there is gonna be extra shock and vibration at the back of your motor home compared to a typical passenger vehicle. And the bike rack does need to be built to a certain spec to withstand that, and the LongHaul is. It's gonna lack a few features that you might be used to in other hitch-mounted racks, like a tilting feature because of that, but you really don't need it on your motor home. And the result is something that's a lot more sturdy because down there at what would be the pivot point, it's welded and bolted in. more

Now the LongHaul is a hanging-style bike rack where the bike is gonna hang by the frame, down below these arms and it can accommodate up to four bikes, making it a pretty good option for families or large groups of friends. Each bike can weigh up to 37 1/2 pounds. So for a hanging rack, that's actually pretty solid, but you will run into some issues because it is a hanging rack. Mainly, it's gonna need a bike adapter bar for alternative frame or kids' frame bikes. more

So something that is capable and sturdy enough of handling that movement is important. which is where this bike rack comes in handy. But another thing is that the Ventura has a very interesting issue it has with platform racks. And that comes from how the hitch sits so close and there's not that much space between your grill, your bumper, plus this ladder. more

They're pretty wide cradles, able to accommodate a five inch wide tire, which is great but this bike rack is going to be a pretty standout one for a number of reasons. I usually don't prefer hanging racks for RVs and motor homes because they're usually not as sturdy, but in the case of the LongHaul, it's what they say over-engineered to make sure it's extra stable. Now what we have here is the four bike version where you can carry up to four bikes without taking up much space. This has your basic features like the arms fold up as well as fold down, be more compact. more

If you're looking for a bike rack for your heavy bikes and you have a motorhome, your options are limited because you need extra heavyweight capacity and an extra sturdy bike rack to hold up to the extra movement behind a motorhome. Fortunately, this is gonna be designed exactly for that. We have an impressive weight capacity of 80 pounds per bike plus a wheelbase capacity of 60 inches which is for those extra large frames and even maybe your smaller or common bikes. There are some downsides with this on the motorhome, though. The first thing is gonna be the distance away from the back of our Fleetwood Discovery. more

So the RV rider is an extreme bike rack. It is designed to use with RV's, motor homes, trailers, things like that, but can also be used on pretty much any vehicle that has a 2-inch hitch receiver. So for that reason, I really would only recommend this bike rack if you have an extreme situation. Maybe you have an extremely heavy bike or you have a long wheel base that you need to consider, that's when this might be the best option for you. But for other cases, like normal bikes, you might want something that's easier to use, 'cause there's a lot of things included with this rack that you're gonna have to go through. more

Now, if you are starting to get these bikes up on your motorhome, things to consider are these are gonna have a lot more strict requirements on durability and strength on the back of our motorhomes than our normal vehicles. Why that is We are a lot further from our rear axle. So we are gonna have a lot more kinda pressure intention on the back of these guys as they get further and further from that axle, that weight's really gonna start having an impact. However, the LongHaul is definitely designed for it. It's been tested time and time again on a ton of RVs by Yakima and it definitely holds up for a lot of reasons. more

It works on both of those, which is kind of a rarity, but it's really sturdy and it'll hold up to the vibrations of being on the back of a motorhome and be fine enough to use on the back of your regular vehicle too. Hollywood Racks RV and Camper Bike Racks Review - 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe- Video

What's going on everybody, Adam here with the etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks RV Rider on our 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. So if you have some really, really heavy bikes this is the bike rack that I recommend to pretty much anybody just because it does have 80 pounds per bike. It's gonna have a 60 inch maximum wheel base. And it is gonna be able to accept those fat tire bikes all the way up to five inches. The nice thing about this is we can make it completely adjust to fit whatever bike we have and have them adjust to where they fit the best. more

So this is a great bike rack because it is designed for use on RVs and motorhomes. So if you also have one of those and you're switching your bike rack between your different vehicles, this is a great option, because it works with all the vehicles.So the way our bike is mounted to our bike rack here is by one, two, three mounting points. So we have two at the top, and this one down here, which is our anti-sway cradle. So you can see as I shake it, how much it really reduces the sway. more

Evangeline: Hi, it's Evangeline from etrailer.com, and today we are looking at the Yakima LongHaul four bike hanging style rack here on our 2020 Toyota Tundra. So this is a bike rack, especially since it is designed to behind the RVs, so if you want some versatility and you want a bike rack that works on your RV and can stand that heavy duty road stress, we can also throw it on your truck, this is a great option.So the way our bike is mounted to our bike rack here is by these one, two, three mounting points. So we have two on the top tube and an anti-sway cradle as well here down on the bottom. So if you do attach it, you can just use these strips here at the top and they just ratchet down onto your bike and secures it. You can also see how there's rubber underneath the zip strips that really protect it from those extra scuffs and scratches. And there's this nice part at the bottom as well to really cradle your bike.Now, this does come with an integrated cable lock, so if you want to use it to secure your bikes, you just pull it out from the back, wrap it around your bikes. more

Today we're taking a look at the Hollywood Racks RV Rider on our 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee.This is going to be a really good rack if you're looking to carry a lot of different bikes and especially if you're going to be using a motorhome or a fifth wheel and then you're wanting to carry it on your Jeep or another vehicle in the family whenever you're not traveling. This is a very versatile rack. We get all of those capabilities when we're talking about campers and fifth wheels, we can't pull it on bumper pull campers, but we're going to just focus on the Jeep Grand Cherokee here today.With this being a versatile rack, you can see I have an electric mountain bike on here today. This is a really good capacity, 80 pounds. more
